Our Stories
Our History
In 1983 a group of some 40 people responded to an advertisement and met to explore the possibilities of a Unitarian Universalist Congregation in the New London area. From this initial show of interest in liberal religion, a group of 17 charter members formed what is now the Kearsarge Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Beginning with two meetings a month at Colby-Sawyer College, the Fellowship later moved to the Masonic Lodge (a former Unitarian Church) in Potter Place which gave us space for religious education and social activities. The past few years, thanks to the generosity of Proctor Academy, which has Unitarian roots, we have been meeting at the Stone Chapel of Proctor Academy and now meet every Sunday except July through August. Our members come primarily from Andover, Bradford, Grantham, New London, Springfield, Sunapee, Sutton and Wilmot..
