In honor of Valentine’s Day, we’ll take a look at the man who preached the gospel of Love.  Jesus has been portrayed from so many perspectives, from common carpenter, to Christ, from subversive radical to righteous warrior, to God Himself.  Let’s explore which versions may have Biblical and historical credence and which may or may not resonate with your own spiritual grounding.

Presenter: Rev. Dr. Mellen Kennedy is a Unitarian Universalist minister and also a Sufi minister (Cheraga).  She serves as minister for the Springfield UU Meetinghouse in Vermont. She also served until recently as chair of the board of The Inayatiyya: A Sufi Path of Spiritual Liberty.  She is founder of Interfaith Bridge, an organization dedicated to cultivating friendship and understanding across faiths, particularly among Muslims and non-Muslims.  She is also co-founder of the UU Small Group Ministry Network, and teaches the art of sacred storytelling and extemporaneous speaking.
