On this Palm Sunday, we will explore the historical context of the life of Jesus. We will look at how his message about living in community through forgiveness, healing, and acceptance threatened the Roman Empire. We will examine how Jesus was a champion of the disinherited, as described by Howard Thurman, and set an example of how oppressed peoples can survive.
